โฆ Synopsis
HRC's troubleshooting column is intended as a forum for those in the separation sciences, a place to seek answers and share solutions to analpicalproblems, both common and esoteric This feature gives every practicing analyst access to a chromatographic pan el whose scope is world-wide Questions and observations, comments on previous questions and/or answers, and general observations should be addressed to Professor Walter Jennings, 91 Blue Ram e Road, Folsom CA 95630, USA, FAX 91 6-985-1101 01 91 6-985-021 4 GC: Sample degradation. Some of the more labile pesticides in my samples (p,p'-DDT, endrin) are degraded. I assume this is occurring in the inlet, because they still generate discrete peaks, but those peaks don't appear where they belong in the chromatogram. I've used new standard, liner, glass wool, guard column, and even installed a new analytical column, but the problem persists. I'm doing splitless injection, and using a straight-tube liner. What am I missing?
