The reaction of NH3 with CbFgS020CH2CF3 has been shown to yield, depending on the molar ratio, FgCCH2NH2, (F5CCH212NH and the novel tertiary amine IF5CCH213N (1111. Halogenation of (1111 with Br2 and Cl2 at the a-position formed (FgCCH212NCBrHCFg , FSCCH2NICBrHCFg12 and NICCIHCF515. Compound 11111 was found to be extremely toxic with a strong anesthetic effect accompanied by convulsions.
