✦ Synopsis
The geminate survival probability against triplet-triplet annihilation has been calculated for several aromatic crystals by solving the adjoint to the diffusion equation and the homogeneous triplet-triplet annihilation rates have been evaluated through the integral relationship between it and the survival probability. The results show that a hopping model of exciton diffusion with annihilation at adjacent sites is adequate for anthracene, naphthalene and I ,4-dibromonaphthalene, however, it is not appropriate for pyrene or trans-stilbene.
