Abstract
Tripletβsensitized irradiation of either Vitamin D or __trans__Vitamin D establishes a photoβequilibrium between the two isomers, the position of which varies with the triplet energy of the sensitizer. In the presence of oxygen, selective photooxygenation of transβVitamin D takes place. The applicability of sensitization for the preparation of cisβ and transβVitamin D and derivatives thereof is shown.

## Abstract The syntheses are described of previtamin D β and vitamin D analogues to be used for the study of the thermal precalciferol β calciferol isomerization reaction. A previtamin D analogue (4) prepared as indicated by Inhoffen could not be obtained in a pure state. Closer inspection reveal
