โฆ Synopsis
The triplet exciton life!ime in crystalline pyrene is found to be 140 * 10 msec at ioom temperature, ovel 500 times longer than previously reported values. The temperature dcpcr, dencc of the triplet iifetimc haz been measured over the range 80-301l'K. The rate of bimolecular annihilation of triplet cxcitons in pyrene is found to be indcpendent of temperature over the range ISO-300%. It is concluded that the transfer of tripist encr= within rha crysmi may be described using the monomer esciton model.
