In der Dunnschicht-Chromatographie hat sich mit Silbernitrat impragniertes Kieselgel zur Trennung van Molekulen, die sich in der Zahl der Doppelbindungen und ihrer Konfiguration (cis, trans) unterscheiden, als sehr geeignet erwiesen. Der Rf-Wert wird ferner durch die Kettenldnge und die Lage der Doppelbindungen beeinflufit.
