## Abstract The main objective of this study was to analyse the trends in 20 annual extreme indices of temperature and precipitation for Utah, USA. The analyses were conducted for 28 meteorological stations, during the period from 1930 to 2006, characterized by a longβterm and highβquality dataset.

We analyse 20th century trends in six indices for precipitation extremes and four indices for temperature extremes, calculated from daily observational data for European stations. The indices chosen reflect rather moderate extremes. Most of the βΌ80 stations used are situated in central and western E
