✦ Synopsis

It is shown by means of a counterexample that a recently proposed benchmark for algorithmic approaches to automated medical treatment selection is inappropriate. The origin of the unwarranted proposal is traced back to failure to distinguish clearly between retrospective patient data and data derived from a controlled therapeutic trial.
