โฆ Synopsis
The helical twisting power p-t of binary cholestcric mixtures has been measured as a function of mole fraction x. Whenever the molecular structure of the components is different the function p -I(X) deviates considerably from Linearity. In scme cases unexpected heliwl inversions had been obscrvcd. The properties of the different mixruses can be understood by means of the molecular statistical theory of Goossens extended by consideration of the concentration dependence of the dispersion energy terms.
