Twenty-seven children with varying degrees of laryngotracheal stenosis were treated at Texas Children's Hospital (TCH) from January 1984 to January 1989. Nineteen children had a residual airway demonstrable preoperatively, and following laryngotracheoplasty, 18 (95%) were successfully decannulated;
