The investigation of mulliple murders is becoming increasingly common to America's communities. With the response to and investigation of such crimes comes significant and unique stress to law en forcement personnel. Such stressors fall into two broad categories: organizational and event. Successful management of this unique type of law enforcement stress requires a strong organizational commitment, specific management programs involving training and critical incident stress debriefing, and community support.
