Marion Zimmer Bradley, geboren 1930 als 'Marion Eleanor Zimmer' in Albany/New York. Beginnt bereits als Elfjรคhrige mit dem Schreiben historischer Romane. 1946-1948 Besuch eines Lehrerkollegs des New York State College. Abbruch des Studiums und Heirat mit dem dreiรig Jahre รคlteren Eisenbahnangestellten Robert Bradley. Wegzug nach Texas, nach vielen Jahren Wiederaufnahme des Studiums. 1964 - inzwischen erneut verheiratet - Studienabschluss und weitgeres Studium an der University of Berkeley. Erste Verรถffentlichungen erscheinen 1953. Bekannt auch als Herausgeberin und Fรถrderin fantastischer Literatur. Die Autorin verstarb 1999 an einem Herzanfall.
