✦ Synopsis
The nondestructive testing was conducted with X-rays and ultrasonic waves. The results of both tests correlated well and indiitcd that altbough tbe reinforcing layers showed regions which were well consolidated and fully bonded to the aluminum I-beam dangcs. there were also areas with signi8cant &bonding. The latter condition will prevent the attainment of the theoretical strength of these b&us.
The purpose of this presentation is to discuss these results and to indicate the factors which must be controlled in order to achieve full theoretical strengthening.
