## Abstract The termination of chemical neurotransmission in the CNS involves the rapid removal of neurotransmitter from synapses by specific transport systems. Such mechanism operates for the three major amino acid neurotransmitters glutamate, Ξ³βaminobutyric acid (GABA) and glycine. To date, five
