Transport property of Ca3Ru2O7 under hydrostatic pressures

✦ Synopsis

We have measured the temperature dependence of the electrical resistivity of the layered perovskite Ca 3 Ru 2 O 7 under hydrostatic pressures. Both the first-order and antiferromagnetic transition temperatures decrease steeply with increasing pressure and vanish around 3 GPa. A small peak around 10 K emerges in the intermediate pressure range, which is almost pressure independent. The transport property finally changes from insulating to metallic behavior above 8 GPa, and is approaching that of the Fermi liquid metals with increasing pressure.
