The specific heat of high-purity copper has been measured over the temperature range 0]'0.03-0.2 K. It is shown that an anomaly appears in the specific heats of some samples. The temperature dependence is ~ T-eat T >~ O. 03 K, and at 0.03 K the magnitude is equal to that of the contribution from con

β¦ Synopsis
Abstract
The thermal resistance between phonons and electrons has been measured in thin copper samples at temperatures from 0.03 to 0.2 K. The measurements are in qualitative agreement with a calculation based on the freeβelectron model, except the temperature dependence changes to Tβ^3^ from the expected Tβ^4^ as the electron mean free path becomes limited by sample boundaries.
