The transmission characteristics of a metallic slit with a bar are investigated by using the two-dimensional finite difference time-domain method. It is found that the introduction of a bar enriches the transmission spectrum. As the bar locates at the center of the electric (magnetic) field antinode

Van B1adel has reduced the problem of low-frequency scattering through an aperture in a rigid screen to a sequence of static integral equations. Analytical solutions are known at the moment for a circular and an elliptic aperture only. A new analytical method is proposed here which is valid for aper
