## Abstract It is well known that fulminant hepatitis B can occur in infants born to hepatitis B e antigen (HBeAg)‐negative hepatitis B virus (HBV) carrier mothers, whereas fulminant hepatitis and severe hepatitis are uncommon in infants born to HBeAg‐positive mothers. We have encountered an infant
