This paper expands on previous work by RodrΔ±Β΄guez and van Kampen, and by Weinstein and Benaroya. The original work by RodrΔ±Β΄guez and van Kampen outlined a method of extracting information from the Fokker-Planck equation without having to solve the equation itself. The response of Du$ng oscillator to combined deterministic harmonic and random excitation is investigated. The method of harmonic balance and the method of stochastic averaging are used to determine the response of the system. Theoretical analyses and numerical simulations show that when the intensi
