✦ Synopsis
As part of a program to investigate the potential synthetic utility of transition metal-stabilized carbenium ions , we have been interested in the +1 chemistry of the cationic propargyl complexes (RCICCR2)y2(C0)6. Since the activating -Co2(CO)6 moiety is efficiently introduced and removed, 3 these complexes appear to be attractive intermediates for application as electrophilic propargylic synthons (Scheme).
