โœฆ Synopsis

We study the transient properties of voltage-controlled transparency in an asymmetric double quantum dot. We find that under the transparency conditions the system can exhibit transient gain without inversion. The dependence of the time dependent absorption and gain to the system parameters is also investigated.

Dynamic storage and retrieval of a weak infrared (IR)-light pulse are investigated theoretically with feasible parameters in an asymmetric double quantum dot system, a quantum dot molecule (QDM). It is shown that, with a voltage-controlled tunneling, we are able to store and retrieve the IR signal p
