โœฆ Synopsis

Universita' di A magnetic field after effect, systematically observed in YBCO, is reported. It manifests as an appreciable enhancement of the zero resistance temperature after thermally driving the sample into the normal state in a magnetic field applied at a temperature situated within the transition region. The effect is reproducible both in single phase YBa2Cu307_ 6 as well as in Y1 2Ba0.sCuO4-6 polyphase samples. The higher Tc state is not stable, and relaxes with extended decay times tens of days).
