✦ Synopsis


The diffracted signal from a thermal grating formed by radiationless processes is proposed as a method for measuring energy deposition quantum yields. The deposition quantum yield a few ns after pumping of iron(lI1) tetraphenylporphyrin chloride is found to be O-93*0.07 using this new technique.
