✦ Synopsis

A formulation for the transient analysis of high-speed digital interconnects with the use of generalized time-domain scattering parameters i s presented. The scattering parameters can represent any arbitrary N-port passive network under an arbitrary impedance reference system, and can euen be obtained from measurements. A procedure for converting S parameters between different impedance reference systems is also given. Finally, simulation results are presented and compared to those obtained with a SPICE simulator.

## Abstract A novel transmission‐line model of high‐speed IC interconnects is presented based on the linear multistep integral method (LMIM), which has the same form as the RLC circuit equation. Using this method, one can expediently analyze the time response of interconnection networks by the orde
