✦ Synopsis

Analytical transient solutions of a straight fin including fin tip heat transfer are developed using the method of Laplace transforms. The effects of neglecting fin tip heat transfer are examined by comparing results with available adiabatic tip solutions. The Harper-Brown approximate method is also explored for transient application.
