The mechanisms of the transformations 5 + p in a silver-zinc alloy of 49.97 at.% silver have been investigated by means of electrical resistivity measurements. Values obtained at various rates of heating and cooling in the temperature range 21O"C-340°C are given. The transformation 5 -+ B takes place by breakdown of the 5 structure to give a partially ordered /I structure which subsequently disorders. The transformation p -+ 5 is accompanied by the formation of anti-phase domains.
