Abstract

2,6‐Bis(5‐thioxo‐4,5‐dihydro‐1,2,4‐triazole‐3‐yl)pyridines (3, 4) were used for the first time as ligand in ruthenium catalyzed transfer hydrogenation of acetophenone. The in situ prepared three‐component system Ru(II)/tridentate triamine ligands (3a3d, 4a4d) and KOH catalysed the transfer hydrogenation reaction of acetophenone in good yields under mild conditions.
