✦ Synopsis
In the title compound, [Zn(C 10 H 11 N 2 O 2 ) 2 (H 2 O) 2 ], the Zn II atom lies on an inversion centre, and is coordinated in a distorted octahedral geometry by two carbonyl O atoms and two imine N atoms from two anionic bidentate acetone (2oxidobenzoyl)hydrazone ligands and two aqua ligands. The complexes are linked together via O-HÁ Á ÁO hydrogen bonds, leading to a two-dimensional network.

In the title compound, [Cd(C 13 H 12 N 2 O) 2 (H 2 O) 2 ](NO 3 ) 2 , the Cd atom, located on a twofold rotation axis, is octahedrally coordinated by O and N atoms from two benzamide ligands, and two O atoms from water molecules also located on the twofold axis.
