✦ Synopsis
transandeis-1,3,5,7-tetraaza&d" m CO (2 & 3) were isolti md structurally characterized (VT-NMR). Oneof the cis-TAD derivatives intended to act as "cores"of new host systems,2,6-di(hydroxymethyl)-cis-TAD (5), gave heavymetal ion (Cd", Pb'l,etc.) complexeswith remarkably highbindiogconstants, as measuredby polarography. X-ray analyses oftheCdr' (7a)andPb"(7b)complexes revealed a new, uniquebinding mode. @1997ElsevierScienceLtd.
