In this paper we determine trace forms of field extensions defined by trinomials (X^{n}+a X^{k}+b). This gives an affirmative answer to a generalization of a question of Conner and Yui. Moreover we classify all such trace forms over algebraic number fields. ' 1993 Academic Press, Inc.
