It can be concluded from this study that caution should be exercised when using the amine tetraphenylboron derivatives for qualitative identification purposes. Since the melting points depend on the heating rate in many cases, the rate of heating should be taken into consideration. Other methods should always be used to confirm the results found with the tetraphcnylboron derivatives.
