By analysing the UV-VIS spectra for CT0 in a series of n-alkanes, the positions of the absorption peaks in the corresponding gas-phase C,O spectrum were estimated from linear relations between the former positions and the corresponding Lorentz-Lorenz function for the solvents.

' When the temperature reaches 700 K, the CT0 vapour pressure in equilibrium with the pure solid, is only 1 x 10m3 Pa [ 151, which is equivalent to a concentration in the gas-phase of practically 2x lo-'OM.
