✦ Synopsis

The Didemnenones A (1a), B (1b) and C (2), isolated by Lindquist et al. [1], from the Carribean tunicates Didemnum voeltzkowi and Tridemnum cyanophorum, show a broad range of biological activities, including toxicity against leukemia as well as antimicrobial and antifungal activity. The structure of these marine natural products is based on X-ray investigations with the corresponding α-methylacetal 1c and on synthetic results [2 -5].
