The total synthesis of the naturally occurring prostaglandin F2a (PGF2a) was achieved on a soluble non-cross-linked polystyrene support (NCPS). The approach was predicated upon a three component coupling scheme that is both synthetically flexible and convergent in nature. The methodology detailed should provide access to libraries of the PGF series.
