✦ Synopsis
The spermidine alkaloids (+)-(2S)-dihydromyricoidine ( 5) and (+)-(2S)-myricoidine (4) were synthesized under asymmetric conditions. The synthetic compounds 4 and 5 were found to have positive 21
[O~]D values in both cases, which agrees with those of the natural alkaloids. Therefore the absolute configuration of the natural products are (2S)-configurated and not (2R)-as reported in the literature.
