✦ Synopsis


The current substantial interest concerning the structure elucidation of new active natural products led to the complete 1H and 13C chemical shift assignment of a triterpenoid derivative, methyl 2a,3b,24-tri-Oacetylolean-12a-chloro-28,13b-olide, obtained after acetylation and methylation of a mixture isolated from Mentha villosa. The 2D shift-correlated NMR techniques HMBC, HMQC, COSY and NOESY were used.
