✦ Synopsis

A formula will be derived for the torsional stiffness of conical membrane shell made from linear elastic homogeneous isotropic material. The torsional stiffness of the truncated conical membrane shell is defined by the following manner: it is that value which is obtained as the square of the applied torque divided by two times strain energy in the state of pure torsion.
