โœฆ Synopsis

The response of a cylindrical elastic pile embedded in a homogeneous poroelastic medium and subjected to torsional loading is studied for the first time. Based on the Muki's model, the pile-porous medium system is decomposed into a fictitious pile system and an extended porous medium system. The one-dimensional, vertical, elastic pile and the three-dimensional poroelastic medium are solved, respectively. Considering the mixed boundary-value conditions at the interface of pile and soil, a Fredholm's integral equation of the second kind for the bar-force is established. The force and the displacement of the pile are calculated by applying numerical quadrature.

This paper considers the steady-state vertical vibrations of a rigid circular disk embedded at a "nite depth below the free surface of a poroelastic medium. Biot's elastodynamic theory for porous media is used in the analysis. General solutions for axisymmetric poroelastic "elds are obtained by usin

This work investigates the dynamic response of pile groups embedded in a poroelastic medium subjected to horizontal loading. The dynamic response is analyzed using the Muki and Sternberg Method. The load transfer problem is formulated in terms of a second-kind Fredholm integral. The dynamic impedanc
