Five novel antimicrobial steroid sulfates, tqsentiastaol sulfates A-E (l-5) have been isolated from a marine sponge, Topsentio sp. Theii structures were elucidated to be 2.3.4, Ctetrahydroxy-M-methyl A%~I) sterol-2,3,6-trisulfates with unusual side chains. Topsentiasterol sulfates A-D have &de chains wrminadng in furan-buteoolii type functions. Topsentiasterol sulfate E is a C31 compound.
