We give the necessary mathematical conditions for strong monopole catalysis.
Recently, much attention has been paid to studying the breakdown of baryon number conservation in the presence of nonabelian monopoles [1 ]. In this letter we study the topology of this phenomena, pointing out some aspects of the J = 0 approximation.
The Atiyah-Singer theorem can be considered as the global version of the ABJ anomaly. In the simplest case of a compact manifold M, the theorem reads:
