## Abstract The nature of the intensely fluorescent cells (IFC) in the livers of male Sprague‐Dawley rats was evaluated using histochemical and pharmacological techniques. The number and distribution of IFC in portal areas were quantified using some of these techniques. Cells which were metachromat
