✦ Synopsis

A multiuser, soft X-ray FEL facility is currently planned at BESSY. In preparation for the technical design report, tolerance studies have been performed for the undulator section adjacent to the 2:25 GeV linac. Deficiencies of the incoming beam as well as undulator imperfections have been investigated. Special aspects of the planned APPLE II type undulators have been considered.
