Nelle Harper Lee was born on 26 April 1926 in Monroeville, Alabama, which is most certainly the Maycomb of the novel. She was the youngest daughter of a lawyer and began to write early in childhood while she was attending local schools. Her satirical presentation of education in the novel suggests t
