โฆ Synopsis
Very recently a number of editorials have been published discussing the state of the art of chromatography as an analytical tool. In these discussions spectroscopic techniques are considered as a more or less natural extension of chromatography. Direct coupling of these techniques seems to be the method of choice. Hardly any discussion deals with the question whether on-line coupling is always needed or even desired.
