Grade 7 UpβBest friends and stepsisters Alexis and Helene, both 16, head for London where Helene has a summer internship at the National Gallery. The girls decide to make a bet: who will snag Prince William? Along the way, they meet their dream guys, Simon and Laszlo. They also help their British cousin escape the clutches of her posh but sleazy boyfriend. The story has many plot elements that are completely ridiculous. The girls scam their way into first class, get internships that college graduates would not be able to procure, and have an unlimited amount of money. Beyond implausible, the book is slow and not very interesting. The characters are bland and, even though they're supposed to be quite different in style and interests, they sound exactly alike. βAmy Patrick, New York Public Library
