✦ Synopsis

Intramolecular olefination of esters having a thioacetal moiety was studied. The treatment of v,v-bis(phenylthio)alkyl alkanoates with Cp 2 Ti[P(OEt) 3 ] 2 and the following hydrolysis gave v-hydroxy ketones in good yields.
