The kinetics of anaerobic oxidation of D-glucose (GH) by methylene blue (MB Ο© ) was investigated in a closed system. The reaction was first order with respect to the concentration of meth

β¦ Synopsis
Photolysis of an aqueous solution of methylene blue in the presence of TiO 2 is found to generate 0 2 with reduction of methylene blue to the lecuo form. The rate of 0 2 evolution and the rate of reduction of the dye is monitored and the kinetics are determined. The study shows that certain organic molecules adsorbed on TiO 2 can be reduced with concomitant oxidation of water.

Photo-degradation of curcumin in the presence of TiO 2 nanoparticles has been studied in water-methanol and water-acetonitrile mixed solvents. Curcumin was found to form charge transfer (CT) complexes with TiO 2 nanoparticles. The binding constant of the CT complexes has been determined. Curcumin wa
