β¦ Synopsis
When considering transport property tensors, the symmetry operation required to describe their non-spatial symmetry is complete magnetic reversal 1, which changes the sign of every magnetic quantity, rather than time reversal l', which would in addition reverse the time evolution of the processes under consideration. Exploiting Onsager's reciprocity relations, even or odd I-parity is assigned to transport properties. The original partial prescription of Birss for symmetry-adaptation of electrical conductivity tensor is improved by the use of l-parity. The prescriptions of Cracknell and Pourghazi et al. are also considered briefly.
