Difluorocarbene (CF,) has been observed by time-resolved diode laser absorption spectroscopy following excimer-laser photolysis of C,F,. A band strength of 2.8 x 1 O-i' cm molecule-' for the u3 band may be inferred from the absorption measurements, assummg a quantum yreld &\* = 2 from C,F, photodiss
The sorption of uranyl ions onto amorphous silica has been studied in the presence of atmospheric CO 2 by laser-induced timeresolved fluorescence spectroscopy at trace concentrations (1.0 and 0.1 Β΅M). Two fluorescent uranyl surface complexes have been identified in the pH range 4 to 9. Both complexe
