✦ Synopsis

The reactions of brownmillerite (C4AF) with D20 as well as those of a mixture of CI2A 7 and CaSO4.2D20 with D20 were investigated by on-line powder neutron diffraction.

The crystalline reaction products in the hydrolysis of C4AF are Ca3A12(OD)12 and Ca(OD) 2. For the sulphate containing system a precursor phase was observed before the formation of deuterated ettringite,Ca6A12(OD)12(SO4)3.26D20.

The TbRu 2Àx Pd x Si 2 series of solid solutions (0oxo2) was studied by powder X-ray and neutron diffraction, and by magnetometric methods. The investigated solid solutions crystallise in the body-centred tetragonal ThCr 2 Si 2 -type crystal structure (space group I4/mmm). The magnetic moments are l
